Restoring Brilliance
34m | MY | Project in Club de Mar (Palma de Mallorca)
Project Duration: Nov - Dec 2025 (24 days)
In February 2025, this MY underwent a targeted ceramic coating process at Club de Mar in Palma de Mallorca. The objective was to restore gloss across selected exterior areas, remove surface contamination, and apply a high-performance ceramic coating to enhance surface protection and long-term finish quality.
Key aft and exterior zones, including the transom, aft flats, winch areas, spa pool surrounds, forward brow, and exterior coamings, were treated using CS 7 Micron ceramic coating. Following controlled surface preparation, the coating was applied using a wipe-on, buff-off method to achieve a uniform, high-gloss finish and improved resistance to environmental exposure.
In total, approximately 98 sqm of painted surfaces were restored and protected, delivering an immediate visual enhancement while establishing a durable protective layer suited to high-use exterior areas.
-
Several high-visibility exterior areas, showed signs of reduced gloss and surface contamination caused by regular exposure to salt, UV radiation, and operational wear. The challenge was to revitalise these surfaces without invasive repainting, while delivering a durable solution that would support ongoing maintenance and preserve the yacht’s aesthetic standard.
-
Cerashield implemented a structured surface preparation process, including inspection, decontamination, and controlled testing to ensure consistent gloss levels.
Cerashield’s CS 7 Micron ceramic coating was then applied across selected exterior zones using a wipe-on, buff-off technique. This approach ensured optimal bonding, uniform coverage, and enhanced surface performance, particularly in areas subject to frequent use and environmental exposure.
-
The ceramic coating provides a protective barrier that reduces contamination adhesion and simplifies routine cleaning. With correct washdown practices and compatible aftercare products, the treated surfaces can maintain their enhanced gloss and performance over time, reducing maintenance effort for the crew.
-
This project successfully restored gloss and surface clarity across key exterior areas, delivering a visible improvement in finish quality and long-term protection. The application of CS 7 Micron extended the lifecycle of the existing paintwork and reinforced the yacht’s exterior aesthetics without the need for repainting.
