Project Duration: 46 days

To assess the feasibility of restoring the paintwork, the team began with a controlled test patch to demonstrate the level of gloss recovery achievable. The yacht, last painted in 2017, exhibited significant fading and surface degradation.

  • The captain approached us seeking an alternative to a full repaint, due to time and budget constraints. Following a successful test patch, which confirmed Cerashield’s ability to restore gloss and provide lasting protection, the project was approved and carried out in Turkey.

  • Works were carried out on the hull, bridge deck, transom, waterline, and cap rails. Each area was carefully prepared, with the gloss fully restored before being sealed with Cerashield 7 Micron Ceramic Coating for long-lasting protection.

  • Cerashield provided tailored maintenance guidance, recommending the most effective products to preserve the restored finish to a high standard. To support ongoing care, the yacht was advised to use solutions from the Cerashield Aftercare Range.

  • This project demonstrated an effective alternative to repainting, restoring the gloss of a severely faded 2017 finish while avoiding significant downtime and cost. Through expert surface preparation, application of Cerashield’s 7 Micron Ceramic Coating, and tailored aftercare guidance, the yacht regained a high-gloss, protected finish across all key exterior areas. The result is a revitalised appearance and a maintainable surface that meets superyacht standards.
