95m | MY | Project in Marseille (Monaco Marine)

IIn November, the 95m motor yacht underwent an extensive exterior restoration programme at Monaco Marine in Marseille. With the vessel’s Alexseal paintwork now 11 years old, the primary objective was to restore gloss across both the hull and superstructure, remove surface contamination, and apply a high-performance ceramic coating to protect the finish long term.

Approximately 1,700 sqm of painted surface (final figure TBC) was treated using Cerashield’s CS 7 Pro ceramic coating, applied via a controlled wipe-on, buff-off method. The results were immediately measurable, with gloss readings increasing from 8.6 GU to 94.1 GU on the main deck, and the owner’s deck consistently reaching 91–93 GU. The project delivered a significant visual transformation, restoring depth, clarity, and uniformity across the yacht’s exterior.

  • After more than a decade in service, this 95m MY Alexseal paint showed a severe loss of gloss and the presence of surface contamination across both hull and superstructure. The challenge was to revitalise the existing paint system without compromising its integrity, while delivering a durable solution capable of withstanding a harsh marine environment.

  • Following careful surface preparation and decontamination, Cerashield’s CS 7 Pro ceramic coating was applied to both the hull and superstructure. The wipe-on, buff-off application method ensured controlled coverage, uniform results, and optimal bonding to the aged paintwork.

  • The ceramic coating provides a robust protective layer that simplifies routine washdowns, reduces the adhesion of dirt and marine contaminants, and helps maintain gloss levels over time. With correct aftercare and periodic maintenance, the finish can be preserved at a consistently high standard.

  • The project successfully restored this 95m MY exterior to a high-gloss finish, dramatically improving both appearance and long-term protection. The application of CS 7 Pro extended the service life of the existing paint, reduced future maintenance demands, and delivered a measurable improvement in performance.
